Quick Club Snapshot

Forged carbon-steel wedge with a fully machined sole and revised saw-milled groove process. Grinds alter flight and turf response. Sole options cover varied deliveries.

The fifth generation changes both groove cutting and face treatment while retaining sole milling for shape consistency. Head shaping is more compact than the preceding model.

What these mean

Loft: 58°
The angle of the face. More loft sends the ball higher and takes some sidespin off it; less loft sends it lower and gives more run once it lands.
Launch: High
How high the ball tends to leave the face. A high-launching head helps get the ball into the air, which is usually what a slower swing needs to carry.
Bounce: 10°
How far the sole is angled away from the turf, which decides how the club meets the ground. More bounce resists digging and suits soft turf or a steeper swing; less bounce sits closer to firm ground and tight lies.
Grind: SB
The maker's own name for the shape ground into the sole, which changes how the club sits when the face is opened. Grind names are never comparable between brands — no maker says one of theirs is the same as another's.

Describes the TaylorMade MG5 generally, not this particular club.
